Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can you assist with retrospective claims after death?
Yes, ClaimRight is especially positioned to access and interpret financial records. Once the law firm or the executor gives us authority, we will be able to investigate and provide feedback to the executor/ administrator of the estate on the best way forward. Often, there is no time limit on lodging these claims so we strongly encourage you to contact us for a private discussion.
Q. What if the estate doesn’t have all documents yet?
A death certificate and a copy of official estate administration powers are usually required, such as a copy of probate documents. However different insurers and superannuation funds do have different requirements so call us to discuss your individual situation.
Q. Do you handle beneficiary disputes?
We can handle disputes with superannuation trustees on the amount of payout and whether a specific beneficiary is classified as a dependent for tax and superannuation purposes and request a review of the death taxes payable on death benefits.
